Donna F. Williams, 90, of Sloan, Iowa passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Township Cemetery, rural Sloan, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Donna Faye was born August 5, 1928 in rural Whiting, Iowa the daughter of Clarence Arthur and Freeda Sophia (Carlson) Brenden.
She grew up on a farm outside of Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School in 1946.
Donna worked for nearly forty-years as a bank teller at the Sloan State Bank in Sloan, Iowa.
She enjoyed sewing, and especially loved to cook Swedish food and desserts.
She served as treasurer for the Sloan Country Club for many years.
She was a lifelong Swedish Covenant Church/Evangelical Covenant Church member.
Donna is survived by her granddaughter and her husband, Melody Jean (Paul Moore) Saltzgiver; three great-grandchildren, Christian Lee Williams, Grace Evalynn Williams, and Isabelle Marie Williams, all of West Point, NE; her sister, Ardis (Bert) McCandless of Whiting, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Brenden of Whiting, IA and Joanne Brenden of Whiting, IA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Freeda; daughter, Judy (Gene) Saltzgiver; grandson, Jeremy Williams; two brothers, Arnold and Gale Brenden; and two sisters, Doris (Barney) Nelson and Lois (Neil) Leapley.
