Darlyne H. Leisinger, 88, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Darlyne Helen Davis was born September 18, 1929 in Mapleton, Iowa the first of six children to Merlin and Helen (Warren) Davis. She attended school in Mapleton and Castana, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Othie Leisinger on April 14, 1948 at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa and they had five children, whom they raised in the Ute and Castana, Iowa area.
Darlyne worked at a couple jobs prior to marriage and then stayed home to raise her children. Returning to work in 1967, her employment continued at various places.
She lived her entire life in Monona County, moving to Elmwood Care Centre in 2009. She loved bingo, yahtzee, and word puzzles. Darlyne was also a big baseball fan.
She liked cooking for her family gatherings, and was a very good cook. She was well known for her fried chicken.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Leisinger of Castana, Iowa; son, Dennis and his wife Debra of Madison, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Davis and his wife Doris of Whiting, Iowa; sister, Donna Davis of Onawa and her special friend Bob Rauterkus; and sister, Carol Deeds and her husband Rick of Correctionville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Helen (Warren) Davis; three children, Barb, Ed, and Linda; two grandsons, Arlo and Randy; brother, Howard Davis and his wife Shirley; sister, Garnet Miller and her husband Art.
