Ruth “Eileen” Topf, 97, of Sloan, Iowa passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. (Social distancing measures must be followed- Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Masks are required for the visitation and service.) Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Salix, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Eileen was born February 28, 1923 the daughter of William Wayne and Florence Lenore (Holden) Ordway. She grew up in Castana, Iowa and graduated from Castana High school. She then went on to Nettleton Business Training School.
Eileen Ordway and Lawrence Topf were united into marriage February 15, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. To this union six children were born. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending all of her grandchildren’s school activities. She loved fishing, playing golf, bridge (any type of card game), sewing, watching baseball, and playing computer games.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, Iowa. She was a member and past president of the Tabernacle Society.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Baker of Sloan, Iowa, Bernard Topf of Mars, Pennsylvania, Larry (Marilyn) Topf of Sloan, Iowa, Norma (Marty) Weber of Paullina, Iowa and Evelyn (Jeff) Lawhead of Ida Grove, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence (Holden) Ordway; her husband, Lawrence Topf; brother, Bill Ordway; son, Vincent Topf; and one grandson, Evan Lawhead.
