Connie Jean Teel, 68, of Whiting, Iowa passed away September 28, 2021 at UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s, Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Hornick United Methodist Church, Hornick, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman officiating. (Please bring and wear masks). Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Connie Jean was born July 16, 1953 in Mapleton, Iowa the daughter of Morris Arlington and Julietta Leona (Wacheldorf) Riley. She grew up and attended school in Mapleton, Iowa and later obtained her GED.
Connie married Gary Dean Teel on September 4, 1970 in Mapleton, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Lisa, Becki, Heather, and Katie. She enjoyed raising her children. Connie worked as a food supervisor at WinnaVegas, Sloan, Iowa for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved going to the casino, playing games on her tablet, bowling, getting her nails done with her sister, and attending concerts. Connie enjoyed taking her dogs, “Coco” and “Max” on golf cart rides around town.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Gary Teel of Whiting, Iowa; her children, Lisa (Terry) Pack of Beresford, South Dakota, Becki (Kory) Burgess of Whiting, Iowa, Heather (Bill) Gulick of Hornick, Iowa, and Katie Teel of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; grandchildren, Cody (Abby) Pack, Sydnee (Zach Haire) Pack, Megan (Nick Jepson) Burgess, Madison Burgess, Rylea Gulick, Renae Gulick, and Libby Gulick; great-grandchildren, Mason Bligh, Jaxson Bligh, and Emersyn Jepson; brothers and sisters, Mike Riley of Onawa, Iowa, Larry (Helen) Riley of Yukon, Oklahoma, Barb (Roger) Bainbridge of Mapleton, Iowa, Tim (Sandy) Burke of Mapleton, Iowa, Debbie Spiegal of Mapleton, Iowa, and Mark (Tina) Riley of Onawa, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Julietta (Wacheldorf) Riley; parents-in-law, Eldon (Helen) Teel; brother, Kevin Riley; and several other relatives.
