W. Joy (Carroll) Quick, 83, (formerly of Blencoe, Iowa) passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Caring Hearts for Seniors in Surprise, Arizona.
Graveside memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Center Cemetery, rural Castana, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service of Onawa, IA.
Wilma Joy was born June 7, 1935, in Grant Township, Monona County, Iowa, to William S. and Johanna M. (Peterson) Carroll. In 1947 the family moved to Blencoe, Iowa, where Joy attended Sherman #2 country school and then Blencoe Consolidated School until she graduated in 1953.
Shortly after graduation Joy moved to California where she had a 35 year career in the missile division of Lockheed Aircraft. She retired in the Ozarks at Bolivar, MO, until 2010 when she moved to Sun City West, AZ.
Joy enjoyed outdoor activities and spent her spare time golfing, camping, boating and fishing. She also did a lot of traveling around the country.
Survivors include brothers, Marion (Jane) Carroll of Paradise, CA, Bernard Carroll of Sun City West, AZ, and Gary (Joanne) Carroll of Mt. Vernon, WA; sisters, Ardith Gray of Waukee, IA, Phyllis (Dean) Sturzenegger of Sun City West, AZ, and Charlene (Hank) Randolph of Waukee, IA; sisters-in-law, Dani Carroll of CA and Mary Lou Carroll of Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Johanna Carroll; brothers, Vernon Carroll, Gail Carroll, and Howard Carroll; and infant sister, Maxine Carroll.
