Theodora McCall, 95, of Mondamin, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Longview Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Kennebec Cemetery near Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the Rush Family Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Theodora Jane was born on October 22, 1922, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Theodore and Ruth (Knepper) Jonas. She grew up in Smithland, Iowa, and graduated from Smithland High School in 1941.

She married Earl McCall on September 10, 1941, in Ponca, Nebraska. The couple purchased their farm in rural Mondamin in 1959, where they raised their family and farmed together. Earl passed away on October 14, 2010.

Theodora enjoyed sewing, quilting, and collecting cookie jars. She enjoyed her life to the fullest, and she thoroughly loved family and farm life. She was baptized into the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Berry of Missouri Valley, IA and Earlene and her husband Gayland Hall of Missouri Valley, IA; a son and his wife, Charles “Chuck” and Robin McCall of Pisgah, IA; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Berry, Dawn Adams, April Berry-Sanford, Cindy Neubauer, Christine Hall-Meza, Jessica Lingo, Jeremy McCall, and Christopher McCall; several great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Betty and Wilfred “Willy” Uhl of Smithland, IA; and a brother-in-law, Ron Curbow of Mt. Vernon, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ruth Jonas; her husband of sixty-nine years, Earl McCall; a son-in-law, Jimmy E. Berry; a grandchild, Joshua McCall; infant sister, Sharon Jonas; a brother and his wife, Theodore and Rozena Jonas; and sisters, CeCelia Curbow and Shirley Ann and her husband Albert Larson.
