Jennifer Thompson, 44, of Hornick, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Hornick United Methodist Church in Hornick, with Chaplain Steve Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Township Cemetery near Holly Springs. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2018, with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Jennifer Ray was born on May 19, 1974, to Charles and Valetta (Bossow) Bromander. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1993.
Jennifer and Glen Thompson were united in marriage on October 1, 1994, in Hornick.
She worked for Northwest Iowa Pork from 1995 – 1998, and for Design Home from 1998 – 2005. She received her CNA license from Tri State Nursing, and had worked part-time at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting since 2010.
Jennifer enjoyed animals, gardening, camping, fishing, spending time in the outdoors, and talking to everyone. Most of all, she loved her children, Madelyn and Cooper, and thoroughly enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to them.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Thompson, and children, Madelyn and Cooper Thompson; father and mother, Charles and Judi Bromander; brothers, Toby and his wife Sherry Davidson, and Ted and his wife Sonja Bromander; sister, Dani Davidson and her special friend Aaron Lee; paternal grandmother, Adelene Bromander; father-in-law, Randy Thompson; sister-in-law, Shannon and her husband Joe Fox; brother-in-law, Frankie Thompson and his special friend Mackenzie Kuhlman; uncle, Bruce Thompson; nieces and nephews, Austin, Alexis, Brylie, Kayla and her husband Brian Haupt, Katie, and Danica; great-nephew, Alden Haupt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Valetta Cass; paternal grandfather, Ted Bromander; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lillian Bossow; grandparents, John and Mary Lou Forch; mother-in-law, Sherry Thompson; cousin, Jamie Anderson; special “uncles,” Bob Klingensmith, Pat Gastro, and Phil Reeves; and her beloved horse, Buckshot.
